About Me

When I’m not holding space for clients, yogis, and spiritual enthusiasts, you can find me immersed in the woods, supporting my local thrift shop, soaking up the magic of the incredible women in my life, or dabbling in the herbal arts.
Hey! I'm Anne.
Licensed Counselor | Yoga Teacher | Wild Woman |
Founder of Awakened Connection
This path began with a call back to the soul and
a call to serve.
It was 2020, in the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic, when I was presented with an opportunity to reinvent myself and my life. I was in recovery from alcohol and other drugs and had endured the awakening and enlightenment that sobriety has to offer (IYKYK), and I was ready to step into my power in as many ways as possible.
Becoming a therapist was not initially my goal, and was also not the end result of a conscious search for meaning. All I can say is that it was a gift that was dropped into my lap from the universe…or beyond. As if the subconscious had taken the reins, before I knew it I was applying for graduate studies and starting my journey as a mental health professional. However, the deeper I got into my training, the more it became clear that this work was always meant for me, even from a young age. All those years of empathic listening, deep connection with others, and the ability to make anyone laugh finally made sense, and I was at last ready to share my true gifts with the world.
Along the way and alongside my own personal healing journey, it became evident that mental and emotional wellbeing cannot be separated from the body and each of our own spiritual paths. In fact, awareness of and trust in our bodies, its rhythms, and its language can take our processing and growth to the next level and can help us become our OWN healer. Awakening to this truth brought me back to Yoga - a practice I had been dabbling in for many years - to pursue my 200-Hr Yoga Teacher Training with Be Brave Yoga in Middletown, Connecticut. This training and consistent teaching of Yoga and its eight-limbed path has completely leveled up my life and is deeply threaded into the work I do with clients.
If there’s one thing you should know about me as a person and provider, it is this: as much as I love sitting down with individuals and couples to do the work in our own private container, my passion lies in the spaces where community and meaningful connections grow. It is not uncommon for me to strongly and lovingly encourage folks I work with to find their people; to challenge themselves to experience the dedication and sacrifice it takes to be a part of something bigger; to allow themselves to be seen, witnessed, and held by others. As bell hooks said, “Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” This is the foundation that I’ve built Awakened Connection on and will continue to be a growing part of our mission for years to come.
